In a brief post-project conversation with Gary Rudman, the founder of GTR Consulting, we look back at our project in which we helped visualize his work, ALT, CTRL, SHIFT & UNDO: The 4 Keystrokes That Define the Gen Z Worldview for Researchers & Marketers, which explores the challenges of conducting custom qualitative research with Gen Z, for an audience made up of researchers and marketers.

Having carved a niche in this domain over three decades, and with 23 years at the helm of GTR Consulting, Gary is dedicated to a pursuing a deep understanding of the preferences and behaviors of younger generations; his insights help a variety of businesses reach Gen Z in way that resonates with them authentically.

“I think these slides really made me feel like the star of the show, because it’s like standing in front of a a beautiful backdrop while you’re giving me making a speech. I mean, it sort of allows you to to really shine.”

The Process

Before & After

  • Discussed business goals and desired outcomes for confidence and potential new business

  • Created a light brand identity for “the 4 Keystrokes”

  • Created a logical, easy-to-understand visual framework for the Key Themes

  • Distilled and analyzed the title, long-form reports, draft slides, and articles into a clear, cohesive talk

  • Supported, illustrated, and elevated that content with visually engaging PowerPoint slide design

  • Editable slides allowed GTR to adapt the deck to subsequent speaking engagements

Articles & Thought LeadershipVisual Model

The clear, cohesive visual model for ALT, CTRL, SHIFT & UNDO: The 4 Keystrokes That Define the Gen Z Worldview was developed using the Insights Accelerator process using Gary’s ideas, long-form reports, draft slides, and articles as inputs. The model was then used as headings and breadcrumbs through the deck to guide the viewer logically through his thinking.
